For 2025, Supernova Tours offers daily full-day tours to Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems—all included in a single, unforgettable journey along Nova Scotia’s South Shore. The three hidden gems vary based on the day of the week, season, and weather, with the driver selecting the best spots each day to ensure a unique experience.

For our Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour, we travel in an 8-passenger Kia Sedona minivan with three seats per row in the back and middle, and one seat up front (plus the driver). To make boarding easier, we usually fill seats from the back forward based on the pick-up order, helping everyone get settled smoothly without moving around.

Yes! Our Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tours welcome solo travelers, couples, groups, and families with teens aged 16 and older. Please note that guests under 16 cannot be accommodated, so our tours are best suited for older teens and adults. We’re all about creating a fun and relaxed experience for everyone on board!

Our drivers are experienced, trained, and committed to providing a safe, smooth ride throughout your tour. We regularly maintain and inspect our vehicles to ensure they meet all safety standards. For your convenience and hygiene, hand sanitizer is also available on board.

Coastal weather in Nova Scotia is famously unpredictable. As Nova Scotians say, “if you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes.” It can be sunny at one stop and completely different at the next. Our Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tours operate rain or shine so you can experience all the moods of the region. We provide umbrellas and ponchos to keep you comfortable in light rain and recommend dressing in layers to be ready for whatever the day brings. For your safety and comfort, we reserve the right to cancel the tour in cases of forecasted extreme weather such as heavy rain, hurricanes, flash flooding, widespread power outages, etc. If a cancellation is necessary, we will notify you promptly by email or phone and work with you to reschedule. If rescheduling isn’t possible, you’ll receive a full refund. In the rare event that severe weather occurs during the tour, the guide will use their discretion to adjust the itinerary or end the tour early to ensure everyone’s safety.

If you booked directly through our website or by email, please contact us as soon as possible to cancel your booking. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy—cancellations made less than 24 hours before our Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour aren’t eligible for a refund. For modifications, we’ll be happy to help you change to other available dates whenever possible. If you booked through a third-party site such as Viator or GetYourGuide, you’ll need to reach out to them directly for changes or cancellations. For in-person payments on the day of your Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour, we accept cash, E-transfer (within Canada), Visa, Mastercard, and American Express (processed via our Square system). If you’re paying online through our website (powered by Bokun), you can use all major credit and debit cards accepted by Bokun’s secure payment system.

Our Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour lasts approximately 8 to 9 hours from pick-up to drop-off. It starts around 8:00 a.m., with pick-ups occurring between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m., scheduled at the driver’s discretion based on the pick-up route. Pick-up times will be communicated via email the day or evening before the tour—please check your inbox regularly. In rare cases, a text message may be sent as a follow-up. Drivers will wait up to 5 minutes at your pick-up location; if you’re not there within that time, you will be considered a no-show and will not be eligible for a refund. We cannot wait any longer, as this affects all other guests’ pick-up times and delays the start and end of the tour. Return to Halifax is usually between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., though these times are estimates and may vary due to traffic or construction delays.

For the Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour, we recommend wearing comfortable footwear and dressing in layers, as coastal weather can be unpredictable and may change throughout the day. Bringing sun protection—such as sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses—will help keep you comfortable. Since some of the roads along the route can be winding, consider bringing Gravol or another anti-nausea remedy if you’re prone to motion sickness.

We provide an approximate pick-up time the evening before your Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour, so please be ready a little early to ensure a smooth departure. The driver will wait up to 5 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time at your location. If you’re not there within that window, the tour will continue without you to avoid delaying other guests. Missed pick-ups are considered a no-show and are not eligible for a refund.

Due to limited space in our vehicle and to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate pets or service animals on our Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour. We appreciate your understanding.

For our Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour, a minimum of two guests is required to operate and ensure a high-quality experience.

Guests who can comfortably get themselves in and out of the van without assistance and manage the walking required at stops are welcome to join the tour. Our Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour involves walking on uneven, rocky surfaces at Peggy’s Cove, a small hiking trail at Ovens, and hilly terrain in Lunenburg, so a moderate fitness level is recommended. Please note the van does not have wheelchair access at this time. We have step-stools available to assist with entering and exiting the van—please notify us in advance if you’d like to use one. For guests with significant mobility challenges, this tour may not be suitable. Feel free to contact us ahead of time to discuss any concerns.

We contact guests the day or evening before the Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour by email with an approximate pick-up time, location, and the vehicle description to look for. We ask that you please reply to the email or text to confirm you’ve received your pick-up details. In rare cases, a follow-up text message may also be sent. This will usually be the address you provided, such as somewhere on the Halifax Peninsula, Bayers Lake, or the Spryfield area. In some cases, for ease of parking, safety, or if multiple guests are staying very close together, we may ask you to meet the guide at an alternative nearby location. If the driver isn’t there exactly at the specified time, please don’t worry—they may be delayed due to earlier pick-ups, traffic, or construction and will arrive shortly. Our Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg & 3 Hidden Gems tour operates from mid-April through to the end of October or early November each year. For 2025, our season runs until November 1. Please check our Tours page for specific dates and availability.
